The City of Richmond recently received $450,520 in provincial funding to build a new multi-use pathway adjacent to No. 2 Road.

The path, which will be 630 metres in length, will connect Steveston Highway and Williams Road.

It will serve pedestrians and cyclists in the area and aims to offer residents more options for active transportation.

The funding came from the B.C. government's Active Transportation Infrastructure Grants program, which is providing $24 million to 80 active transportation projects across the province.

According to a media release from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, the program offers up to $500,000 in cost-sharing investments for infrastructure projects to Indigenous, local and regional governments, and up to $50,000 to develop active transportation network plans.
