The Richmond Community Foundation (RCF) has opened its scholarship application process to local students pursuing studies in various academic studies as well as other fields such as performing arts, trades and athletics.
Grade 12 students in Richmond who are pursuing further studies are encouraged to apply.
Last year, 36 students received over $25,000 in financial support from scholarships through RCF.
Among the scholarships, there is the Audrey Fricker Scholarship, which supports students pursuing musical studies; the GBN Health Technology Scholarship, which is for students studying medical sciences; and the Richmond Sunset Rotary Art Scholarship, which is awarded to students enrolled in visual or performing arts programs.
“Richmond students are incredibly diverse, and their educational horizons keep getting broader,” said Maryam Bawa, scholarship committee chair of RCF.
“Thanks to our fundholders, we’re able to provide a wide range of scholarships, supporting students wherever their post-secondary journey takes them.”
Bawa added that they simply encourage as many students to apply for the scholarships.
It’s not only about grades, but also community involvement, extracurricular activities, and financial need. There’s so much to gain just by submitting an application.”
