A group of Richmond workers will be sharing a $250,000 Lotto prize, after a draw on April Fool’s Day.

The 26 co-workers will get a share of the prize, worth $9615.38.

They were led by Alexander Abuzo, who bought the ticket at the Rainbow Market, at No 4 and Cambie roads, on behalf of the group.

One morning before work, Abuzo decided to check the Lotto Max ticket bought on April 1, but what he saw on the Lotto! app was no joke.

Jumping for joy

“I jumped when I saw the amount!” he recalled.

As soon as he realized his group had scooped the Maxmillions prize, he shared the news and pretty soon everyone was jumping up and down.

The winners all have different plans for their prizes, but collectively they decided to start celebrating by treating the entire office to a pizza lunch.
