A popular bubble tea shop in Richmond was closed for a short time due to supply chain delays caused by the B.C. port strike.

Macu Tea, at 8368 Capstan Way, announced it would be closed temporarily starting Thursday, July 6 and would reopen “as quickly as possible.” It reopened on Saturday, July 8.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause, and please rest assured that we are actively working to resolve the issues and restore our operations,” reads Macu Tea’s statement released on Thursday.

The Richmond News reached out to the store for more information and has not received a response.

Macu Tea, a Taiwanese-based brand, opened its first North American store in Richmond in April.

It offers signature “drinking desserts,” which include layered slush drinks with fresh fruits such as mango.
