Fun fact about Richmond...

Do you know what the Seine Net Loft in Steveston was used for back in the day?

The peak era for seine net lofts was between the early 1900s and 1940s, when the Fraser River fishing industry was thriving and local canneries were in operation.

The lofts were central to Richmond's fishing industry, serving as workspaces where fishermen made, repaired, and stored the large seine nets used to catch salmon and herring.
