Richmond firefighters fight house fire near Granville and No. 1

No bystanders or fire crews were injured, says assistant deputy chief.

Richmond Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a house on fire in west Richmond on Wednesday evening (April 16).

When they first arrived, flames were coming through the roof of the house in the 4000 block of Granville Avenue, near No. 1 Road.

The crews were fighting the fire "aggressively" to protect neighbouring properties, Grant Wyenberg, assistant deputy chief told the Richmond News.

There were no injuries to staff or bystanders, he added.

A fire investigator was dispatched to the scene.
