Chalk this one up in the ‘you can run, but you can’t hide category.”

According to Delta police, the department’s crime reduction unit stopped a prohibited driver on June 18 who went to rather extreme lengths to avoid getting caught.

“The driver was alleged to have been driving a vehicle with counterfeit license plates – making the vehicle both unlicensed and unregistered. Not to mention uninsured,” said DPD in a post on its Facebook page. “Police nabbed the driver after he had hidden the vehicle behind a rural Ladner property, and attempted to walk away from it.

“The suspect is now facing numerous charges including prohibited driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and more.”
