PR consultant new chair of Richmond chamber of commerce

The new board includes representatives from the casino, the port and the airport.

The Richmond Chamber of Commerce elected a new board chair at its 97th annual general meeting.

Lisa Cowell, who is a communications consultant with Apostrophe PR, replaces Carolyn Robertson who held the position for two years.

“I am looking forward to continuing the positive momentum that the organization has achieved,” said Cowell. “Our organization is in great hands, with a solid strategic plan and the right team to deliver results.”

Cowell’s background in fundraising and communications is largely with non-profits such as the Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.

The new board of directors is comprised of a variety of business people, including representatives from the Vancouver Airport Authority, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, Gateway Theatre and Great Canadian Entertainment, which owns River Rock Casino and Resort.

The AGM was held last Thursday.

The Richmond Chamber of Commerce 2023/2024 board of directors are:

Corporate secretary: Naomi Horsford, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority

Treasurer: Fan Chun, Dr. Power

Immediate past chair: Carolyn Robertson, Kwantlen Polytechnic University
