Burnaby RCMP members found themselves following a long blood trail next after a stabbing next to a local shopping centre.
At 6 p.m. on Friday night, Burnaby crews were called to Balmoral Street and Salisbury Avenue, next to the Highgate Shopping Centre for a report of a stabbing.
When crews arrived they found a person suffering from multiple stab wounds laying on the sidewalk.
The person was transported to hospital by paramedics in serious condition.
Police followed the trail of blood to a vehicle which was parked in the 7100 block of Collier Street. The vehicle was also covered in blood.
Multiple streets were blocked off to help investigate the stabbing.
