Meanwhile, the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is investigating a suspicious death near the north arm of the Fraser River.
Investigators say they were called on Monday afternoon to an area near the Milltown Marina – which is technically in Richmond - after someone found a body.
Police say the body was found in a sleeping bag at the foot of Bentley Street, which, from Richmond, can only be accessed by the Arthur Laing Bridge and then turning left off Marine Drive.
Crews with the Forensic Identification Unit and Major Crime Section were dispatched to the scene.
Investigators say they are unable to confirm any details about the case until an autopsy is completed.
Anyone who may have seen something unusual in the area in at the time is asked to call the VPD at 604-717-2500 or contact Crimestoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.
