Police appeal for witnesses after car crashes into pole

Two people were sent to hospital, one in serious condition, after a crash on the Highway 91 off-ramp last weekend.

Richmond RCMP are appealing to the public for dashcam footage or witnesses to a single-vehicle crash that took place just after midnight, early Saturday morning (May 21).

A black 2011 Acura allegedly went off the road and collided with a tree near the Westminster Highway and Annacis Island off-ramp from Highway 91.

The passenger in the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries while the driver was also taken to hospital but was later released.

The collision took place around 12:23 a.m.

Richmond RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) are looking for more information.

Police say both speed and impairment are being investigated as possible contributing factors.
