Richmond’s Hamilton community has been flooded with RCMP vehicles on Tuesday afternoon.
An “unfolding” police incident has Westminster Highway, between Gilley Road and McLean Avenue, closed off to vehicles and pedestrians.
Several Hamilton area residents reported spotting officers in “tactical-like gear” with what appeared to be rifles in the area.
There’s no estimate for what time the road will re-open, according to an officer at the scene.
“As this is an active and unfolding incident, no further details will be provided at this time,” said Richmond RCMP in a media release.
