A Not So Silent Night, the Richmond Christmas Fund’s largest fundraising event, raised, in one night, a record-breaking amount for a single event.
According to Ed Gavsie, president and CEO of Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives, more than $120,000 was raised from the event, which was hosted at Jaguar Land Rover’s showroom at the Richmond Auto Mall.
The amount raised was almost double of last year's inaugural event.
Toys, sports equipment, books and grocery vouchers are some of the items that will be made available to families applying to the Christmas Fund for help.
Hundreds of people gathered at the event on Wednesday, which included food and drink, entertainment, as well as a silent and live auction.
