Halloween season is upon us, so check out these six things to do in Richmond to get into the spooky spirit.

Pumpkin patch and wagon rides at Richmond Country Farms

If you are looking to pick a pumpkin straight from the patch, check out the pumpkin promenade at Richmond Country Farms. Stroll through vibrant orange field of the u-pick pumpkin patch and choose your perfect jack o’ lantern or lose yourself in the towering corn maze. Once you have your pumpkin, you can ride out on the back of a tractor-drawn wagon. The farmer’s market is also open 9 a.m. -7:30 p.m. daily.

When: 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. until Oct. 31.

Price: $12 - $15 for the pumpkin patch and $20 for the wagon ride (your choice of pumpkin included).

Trick-or-Treating in Steveston Village

Get dressed up in your spookiest costume and go trick-or-treating throughout Steveston. This family-friendly event allows parents and children to explore the village, picking up treats from participating stores along the way.

Steveston Scarecrow Crawl

As you walk around Steveston during the month of October, check out the creative entries some of the stores have put on display for the annual Scarecrow Crawl competition. Winners for this year’s scarecrow event will be announced on Oct. 31.

Wizardland at Lavenderland

Explore, create and eat your way through the fall festivities of Richmond’s Lavenderland. Enchant your day with wand and potion making, then refresh with a bubble tea or a cool treat from their food truck. A candy shop and gift store will also be open during the event.

When: Oct. 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31.

Price: $10 per person (3 years and under visit for free)

The Haunted Sea at the Steveston Cannery

Take a dive into the eerie depths of the Gulf of Georgia Cannery’s The Haunted Sea installation. The historical cannery transforms into a colourful deep-sea tour, with decorations made from recycled materials and creepy ghouls patrolling the halls.

Price: $11.90 for adults, $10.20 (65+) and free for youth under 17.

Escape Room at Richmond Public Library

Adventure into the Richmond Public Library’s Frankenstein escape room. Can you escape before the monster finds you? This event is recommended for ages 12 to 18.
