Damage to the natural gas system has left 115 FortisBC customers in Richmond without gas on Wednesday.
A main gas line has been damaged by a third-party and is affecting customers along Lucas Road, between No. 3 and Gilbert roads, at this time.
According to Jas Baweja, spokesperson for FortisBC, their crew is working on repairing the damage as quickly as possible.
“We have brought the natural gas under control and after repairs are done we will begin restoring gas service to residences,” says Baweja.
FortisBC will be visiting every affected home or business to turn the natural gas back on at the meter and will relight all affected appliances.
There is no estimated time for repairs to be finished at this time.
