Youth Strategy
The City of Richmond is seeking nominations for the annual U-ROC Awards.

The City of Richmond is inviting community members to put forward names of local youth who should be recognized for their community contribution.

The annual Richmond Outstanding Community (U-ROC) will return during BC Youth Week from May 1 to 7 to celebrate the achievements of local youth, as well as the contributions of adults to supporting Richmond's youth.

Nominations can be made for two categories, with the first being "outstanding youth," which aims to highlight youth who "display exceptional qualities," overcome barriers toward their personal success and make the city a better place.

The second category, titled "asset champions," celebrates adults who help build developmental assets through advocacy, youth programming, mentorship, youth engagement or community support.

Submissions can be made online and more information is available at richmond.ca/Youth. Community members can also email [email protected] for more information about the U-ROC Awards or visit www.BCYouthWeek.com to learn more about BC Youth Week.

The deadline for nominations is 11:59 p.m. on April 2, 2024.
