A new LifeLabs Ironwood Patient Service Centre (PSC) has opened in Richmond's Ironwood neighbourhood.

This LifeLabs centre is an appointment-based location with a focus to make patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) feel safe and stress-free.

Services provided include blood collection, Holter monitoring and electrocardiography services with a unique room designed for patients with ASD.

The centre had its ribbon-cutting ceremony this week with Aman Singh, MLA for Richmond-Queensborough, Kyle Nguyen, director of operations at Pacific Autism Family Network, Thomas Marshall, vice president of Partnerships and Contracts BC at LifeLabs, and LifeLabs employees in attendance.

"I'm thankful for LifeLabs' commitment to providing caring, efficient, reliable and high-quality services to our community," said Singh.

"Ironwood Patient Service will serve the growing population of Richmond, providing the necessary diagnostic testing closer to home."

Marshall added the patient centre is an important step to make diagnostic testing through B.C. "accessible, equitable and of the highest quality."

Ironwood PSC is located in Unit #120 -10880 No 5 Rd. and is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
