Drivers travelling in and out of Richmond are reminded of traffic delays on Knight Street Bridge as overnight paving continues throughout the summer.
The delays and construction work are part of TransLink's Maintenance and Upgrade programs including replacing the deck bearing, deck resurfacing and cycling and pedestrian railing, according to TransLink's website.
Traffic delays have built up on the Knight Street Bridge not only during rush hour but also in the evening with single-lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weekdays and 9 p.m. to 9 ap.m. on weekends and holidays.
Motorists have been caught in the crawling, and occasional standstill, traffic after 9 p.m. and have taken as long as 20 minutes to cross the bridge.
Pavement work, which involves milling and repaving the top layer of the concrete bridge deck, began at the beginning of May and is expected to last until late fall.
