Increasing awareness of the dangers of ecstasy will be the focus of a youth project being created in the Richmond Media Lab.

Increasing awareness of the dangers of ecstasy will be the focus of a youth project being created in the Richmond Media Lab.

Youth who are involved with the Richmond Youth Media Program are working with Richmond Addiction Services and the Richmond RCMP Youth Section to create media art pieces online and in presentations.

The campaign will deliver key messages by youth to youth about the temptations of ecstasy, as well as the consequences and impacts of drug use.

Resources developed will be used in classrooms, communitybased organizations serving youth and in the community at large.

The contest for youth will encourage them to create video public service announcements.

The aim is to generate interest and energy amongst youth. Contest details will be released soon.

One-time funding for the project was received from the BC Civil Forfeiture proceeds.
