A Richmond grad is lighting up the NAIA volleyball circuit in the U.S.

Hugh McRoberts alumnus Jeff Lam – out of Lourdes University in Ohio – has been named the NAIA National Attacker of the Week for his efforts over the last few weeks.

The national honor is the first of Lam's career with the Gray Wolves.

According to Victory Sports Network, Lam hit .468 over three games, with 69 total kills, an average of 6.9 kills per set as Lourdes went 2-1.

Lam also added 30 digs (3.00/set) and five blocks (0.50/set) while registering seven service aces (0.70/set).

The Lourdes’ fifth-year senior began the week with 22 kills and 12 digs in a three-set loss to seventh-ranked Indiana Tech while hitting .487.

Lam followed that effort up with a 24-kill, .467 hitting night in a sweep, before concluding the week with 23 kills and a .452 hitting percentage while adding 15 digs and four aces in a four-set win at Aquinas.

On the season, Lam is hitting .381 with 147 kills (5.44/set) and 60 digs (2.22/set).  He also leads the Gray Wolves with 18 service aces.
