McArthurGlen Designer Outlet is warning shoppers of high wait times as it navigates Boxing Day during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The centre is currently at capacity with wait times up to an hour for entry,” a tweet from McArthurGlen states.
In an emailed statement, the centre said line management systems are in place to facilitate social distancing, including forming a queue outside the main entrance and staggering visits.
Earlier, the outdoor mall said in a tweet that shoppers “may be asked to return later due to high volumes and wait times.”
The centre is currently at capacity with wait times up to an hour for entry. Please note, we have extended hours over Boxing Week from 9am - 9pm with quieter times to visit being mid-week. Thank you for your understanding.

Traffic is also busy approaching the mall on Templeton Street from Grant McConachie Way.
In an effort to mitigate crowds for safer shopping during the pandemic, McArthurGlen announced it would be extending its Boxing Day period to nine days, from Saturday, Dec. 26 through Sunday, Jan. 3.
During this period, the centre will also have extended hours, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the exception of Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
COVID-19 safety measures in place at McArthurGlen include enhanced cleaning in public areas and high touch points, as well as automatic hand sanitizer stations. It's also mandatory to wear a face mask at the centre.
