Man stabbed on No. 1 Road

Police seek witness after knifing

Police are asking the public for help after a man was stabbed several times during a fight with a gang of males in residential Richmond.

About 2 a.m. on Feb. 25, a 28-year-old man was walking along No. 1 Road near Lockhart Road (just south of Granville Avenue) when he got into an argument with a crowd of four or five males.

A neighbour, on hearing the commotion, went outside and shouted at the men, who quickly dispersed.

But shortly afterwards, the group of men returned and the victim was attacked with a knife, sustaining multiple stab wounds in the process.

Again, a neighbour came out and shouted at the group and again they fled on foot.

The victim was then taken to Vancouver General Hospital and was found to be suffering from a collapsed lung.

The man is said to be in serious, but stable condition and is expected to make a recovery.

Police say the investigation into the incident is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1800222-8477.
