A Richmond man plead guilty to possessing child pornography and will be psychologically assessed before his sentencing in October, a court ordered Tuesday morning.

Markku Sillanpaa stood before Richmond Provincial Court on Tuesday with defense counsel Jason Tarnow to give his guilty plea.

Sillanpaa stood behind his lawyer with his head down, facing towards the judge while Tarnow spoke of the need for a psychological assessment.

The court agreed to the assessment of Sillanpaa before sentencing, which can take six to eight weeks to complete. He will appear back in court in October.
