A man has been charged in Richmond provincial court with 14 counts of drug possession and firearm offences.
Arshdeep Singh Bassi, 22, is charged with three drug offences for possession of fentanyl, benzodiazepine (bromazolam), fluorofentanyl and cocaine for the purposes of trafficking.
He’s also charged with possession of several weapons.
Bassi was allegedly in possession of a Mossberg 715T semi-automatic .22 long rifle, an EMEI semi-automatic rifle, a German Sports model GSG-16 semi-automatic rifle, a Polymer 80 semi-automatic nine-millimetre Luger pistol and a Good Time Outdoors semi-automatic rifle with ammunition, without a licence to have these guns.
He’s also charged with storing these guns “in a careless manner or without reasonable precautions for the safety of other persons.”
Furthermore, he’s charged with possession without a licence of a magazine cartridge for a semi-automatic handgun.
The offences allegedly took place on April 24, 2024 in Richmond. The charges were sworn in on May 28, 2025.
Bassi is scheduled for a bail hearing on Friday, June 13.
