Major delays on Highway 91 eastbound onto the Alex Fraser Bridge.

Major highways in Richmond and across Metro Vancouver are once again seeing congestion due to snow and ice on the roads on Monday afternoon.

Motorists leaving Richmond via Highway 91 eastbound can expect traffic backed up to No. 6 Road.

According to DriveBC, the counter-flow lane is not being put in place "due to operational safety concerns" on the Alex Fraser Bridge.

This leaves the bridge operating four lanes northbound and three lanes southbound on Alex Fraser Bridge.

Meanwhile, stalled vehicles are blocking the left southbound lane of Knight Street Bridge entering Richmond.

An earlier stalled vehicle in the southbound lane at the George Massey Tunnel has since been cleared, but traffic is still backed up to Highway 91.
