The City of Richmond is warning drivers of two major road closures this weekend.
River Road, east of Gilbert Road, will be closed Friday, March 18 from 9 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday.
River Road will be closed to all traffic east of Gilbert Road during construction.
Also, the Dinsmore Bridge (Gilbert Road from River Road to Russ Baker Way) will be closed from 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 19 until Sunday at the same time.
The bridge will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists during construction.
Both road closures are needed to facilitate an underground utility expansion running across Gilbert Road.
Alternative routing will be in place and every attempt, according to the city, will be made to minimize disruptions; however delays may occur.
