Dear Editor,

Richmond Garden Club and some community volunteers have been taking care of the perennial gardens in Paulik Park for almost 15 years.

We have dealt with theft of plants through the years but this latest one hit us hard.

A beautiful little hemlock tree was gifted to us to plant in the park. During the Christmas season, someone came in with a saw and cut the little tree down, probably to use as a Christmas tree.

By removing this tree that was shared by all who come to wander through all the gardens, this “Grinch” cut down the tree to use only for themselves.

We work very hard and are so honoured to continue to delight visitors to the park with all the love we pour into the gardens. We ask that all plants, trees, shrubs in the gardens in Paulik Park are left for all to enjoy. We have some excellent nurseries in our community where plants can be purchased for private use.
