A Richmond News reader believes youth who've aged out of care should have access to a minimum income

Dear Editor,

Re: “Expert panel recommends basic income for former youth in care,” Column, Richmond-News.com, Feb. 6.

Good article on basic income for youth aging out of government care.

They definitely need it, especially during this pandemic. It took me three times to move out of my parents’ house in Saskatchewan  to finally be emancipated at 24 and live here in Richmond now at 58.

They moved out here also and no regrets.

Basic income I think should have been here long ago and it looks like it will be brought in sooner than later.

Thank you for writing this article.
