Lansdowne lot stabbing investigated

A 24-year-old man was sent to hospital after being stabbed in a shopping centre parking lot early Saturday. At around 5 a.m., Richmond RCMP received a report of an assault with weapons at the Lansdowne Shopping Centre on No. 3 Road.

At around 5 a.m., Richmond RCMP received a report of an assault with weapons at the Lansdowne Shopping Centre on No. 3 Road.

When officers arrived, they found that one man had been stabbed and the suspects had already fled.

The RCMP's Serious Crime Section is continuing to investigate, interviewing a number of witnesses to piece together what happened.

But at this point in the investigation, they say it's too early to say exactly what lead up to this incident.

The victim, who suffered life-threatening injuries, underwent surgery the same morning and is expected to recover.
