A Richmond realtor couple has donated part of their annual profits to a local charity which helps kids dealing with life-threatening illnesses.
Chris and Angela Dinnell, of the Dinnell Real Estate Group, have donated $4,500 to Steveston-based Wigs for Kids BC.
“This donation has come at a perfect time and we are so grateful to Chris and Angela for their support,” said Wigs for Kids’ Bev Friesen.
Friesen told the Richmond News how the charity – which provides a free wig to any child in B.C. who has lost their hair to cancer or other illnesses – has been struggling financially during the pandemic, given that it has not been able to host as many fundraisers as usual.
She told how the News how Wigs for Kids also helps families financially with the cost of food and cancer medications not covered by MSP.
“Before Covid hit, we agreed to fund the volunteer driving program, where a driver will pick up a child and parent and drive them to and from the hospital for treatment when a vehicle is not available to them, as well as offering financial help to families travelling to the hospital from out of town,” added Friesen, noting that the Dinnells’ donation will help with the driver program.
