Finalists of Richmond's Fairchild Radio kids talent competition volunteered at an annual clothing drive that collected more than 1,000 pounds of donated items on Saturday.
A total of 1,755 pounds of donated items such as clothing, blankets, books and toys were collected within four hours as part of an event from Fairchild Radio's annual "Winter Warm Wave" charity campaign held at Aberdeen Centre on Dec. 17.
Donations from the campaign were raised for the Salvation Army.
Every year, the campaign has a six-week city-wide clothing drive and a one-day event that takes place in Richmond where the Salvation Army no longer has a branch due to high rental costs, according to Fairchild Radio in a media release.
Those who would like to support the campaign can donate used clothing items to any Salvation Army Thrift Store in B.C.
