A group of Richmond marketing students has set up their own café in their secondary school – and have raised more than $1,000 already for the school and local charity.
The Burnett secondary marketing 11 class opened up Cafe Jjang, a school store, in the beginning of October.
Since then, students have worked tirelessly to raise money by selling snacks and hand-crafted drinks, organizing numerous business ventures and operated events.
They also hosted a cake pop sale, hot chocolate bomb sale and bake sale to raise money for charity, as well as going door-to-door selling Christmas cards to families in Richmond.
All profits made will be going towards promoting school events and community spirit or supporting the local hospitals, including BC Children’s Hospital and Richmond hospital.
As well as running the store, the students painted it and built it, from scratch, and even designed their own logo and ads.
