Jazz jet makes safe landing

Emergency services at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) were called into action and ready Tuesday afternoon when the crew aboard an Air Canada Jazz passenger jet reported smoke in during the plane's approach.

However, the aircraft, landed safely at around 3 p.m., according to Vancouver Airport Authority spokeswoman Alana Lawrence.

Lawrence added, the emergency incident had no effect on other operations at YVR.

There were no reports of any injuries onboard the aircraft, flight 208, that still had a reported 3,900 pounds of fuel on board when it safely touched down.

Cause of the smoke is still unknown.
