Richmond RCMP has made a public appeal to 29-year-old Mijia Du to contact police as investigators want to ensure she is safe.
In June, Du was reported as missing after not having contact with her family or friends for two years. Du was last seen at Kwantlen Community College in Richmond in 2010.
Within two weeks of the initial plea for public assistance, Du contacted her family and said she was safe, but did not say where she was.
Since that time, investigators have been trying to make direct contact with Du to ensure that she is in fact safe.
"A considerable amount of time and effort has been spent trying to locate Du with no stone left unturned, however Du's whereabouts are still not known," said Cpl. Sherrdean Turley, media relations officer for Richmond RCMP.
"The investigation will continue until direct contact is made with Du as her safety is the focus of this investigation."
Du is described as Asian, five-feet-six-inches tall, 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Du or anyone who knows of her whereabouts is asked to call Const. Bill Gu at (604) 278-1212. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
