The parking lot at Home Depot on Sweden Way was flooded on Tuesday morning after a fire hydrant burst.
According to the City of Richmond, a private fire hydrant — not maintained by the city — was undergoing maintenance when it burst, causing water to fill the parking lot.
Richmond Fire-Rescue attended and attempted to close the hydrant but was unable to shut it down.
They then called city engineering and public works staff who were able to turn the water off.
