Here’s a mouth-watering list of restaurants set to open at YVR

Vancouver International Airport is expanding its food and beverage options with some local favourites. At a food festival held Friday near Templeton Station on Sea Island, the airport showcased its upcoming culinary offerings.

Each new food option is set to open within the next year. Read on to find out what’s opening, and when.

Pacific Farms Market

Where: Domestic and International Terminals (post-security)

When: Spring 2020 (Domestic Terminal) and Summer 2020 (International Terminal)

Inspired by B.C.’s vibrant food scene, Pacific Farms Market will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner in both terminal locations. In the Domestic Terminal, travellers can keep an eye out for a full service bar, with ready-made items, as well as artisan retail snacks and made-to-order dining featuring locally sourced and seasonal items.

The International Terminal location will feature five made-to-order food stations as well as a grab-and-go section. There’ll also be a poke and sushi bar made with local, sustainable products. And if you’re a fan of Purebread or 49th Parallel coffee, you’re in luck, as selections from both companies will be on offer.

The Dirty Apron

Where: Domestic Terminal (post-security)

When: Spring 2020

The Dirty Apron first launched in Vancouver a decade ago, and is run by Chef David Robertson, and his wife Sara.

This local favourite will feature its award-winning sandwiches, as well as a variety of tasty and nutritious meals and snacks, all made with locally-sourced, seasonal produce and meats.

Sal y Limon

Where: Transborder Terminal (post-security)

When: October 2019

US-bound travellers will be able to grab a bite at Sal y Limon as they wait for their flights.

The Vancouver-based restaurant will offer a variety of tacos, burritos, quesadillas and other Mexican street foods and homemade salsas.

Heritage Asian Eatery

Where: Domestic Terminal (post-security)

When: Spring 2020

Known for its contemporary Asian comfort food, Heritage Asian Eatery will offer travellers pork belly bowls, chicken bowls, Dan Dan udon, and eggplant and shiitake bowls at the new YVR counter-service location.

The restaurant also has locations in Downtown Vancouver and Mount Pleasant.

Uno Gelato

Where: International Terminal (pre-security)

When: Open

Uno Gelato opened its YVR location in June, just in time for summer. The gelateria is known for its traditional, handcrafted Italian method of gelato-making, and will offer up to a dozen original gelato offerings made with fresh, local and organic ingredients.

Some YVR flavours include Salted Caramel, Mint Chocolate Chip, Lemon, New Fashioned Chocolate and Very Cherry.

Japadog

Where: Domestic Terminal (pre-security)

When: January 2020

Vancouver’s own Japadog is expanding into YVR’s domestic terminal (there’s also a Japadog outside of the airport’s International Arrivals area). The new location will feature fan favourites as well as a new breakfast menu.
