Heavy rainfall hits Richmond

Rainfall is expected to continue throughout the week, including on Halloween.

Heavy rainfall struck Richmond last night, with reports of 15 to 20 millimetres accumulating over one two-hour period.

In total, YVR reported 25 millimetres of rainfall yesterday and 47 millimetres between Friday and Sunday.

According to the Weather Network, there were also reports of flooding in the city. In addition to the heavy rainfall, an accumulation of leaves in storm drains may have exacerbated flooding.

Looking ahead, Richmond has another soggy week in its forecast with high temperatures averaging around 11 C and rainfall expected through the weekend according to Environment Canada.
