Police are on the hunt for an armed man after a shot was fired in a parking lot during a botched handbag robbery. A woman was in a parking lot with her boyfriend when they were approached by a man asking for the time. The man then pulled a gun and demanded she hand over her designer handbag.
When she refused, he grabbed the bag and there was a struggle until her boyfriend jumped on the robber's back. A shot was fired into the ground during the scuffle, which was later determined to be a blank round. The suspect then fled without the handbag.
Police have released a sketch of a man who tried to rob the 19-year-old woman in August. He is described as a Caucasian male in his mid-20s with a chubby build.
