Richmond Fire-Rescue responded to what it’s calling a “serious” incident on Kilgour Place in September.
According to a monthly fire department report issued Tuesday to Richmond city council’s safety committee, firefighters responded to a report of a smell of gas in the air at the French school.
Upon arrival, the crew found remnants of two bottles that were set up like Molotov cocktails, including one bottle with an attached wick coming out of its neck.
There was no fire at the time, but there was evidence of soot and a scorch pattern on the ground nearby.
Fire investigators and the RCMP are now conducting an investigation.
According to RCMP data, arson is down 13 per cent this year over last, with 45 reported incidents to September 2015.
