A large blaze erupted at a Richmond landfill Sunday, sending giant plumes of smoke visible for miles around.
Richmond Fire-Rescue took several hours to get the fire at Ecowaste landfill between No. 6 and 7 roads in East Richmond under control.
The fire is not believed to be suspicious. There are no injuries, and no structures are threatened.
According to Ecowaste's website, the landfill contains mostly construction and demolition materials.
