A driver was ticketed with three charges after an accident closed the Arthur Laing Bridge on Thursday night.
Richmond RCMP received a report shortly after 7:30 p.m. of a two-vehicle collision on the northbound lane of Grant McConachie Way just before the bridge.
The area, including the northbound side of the Arthur Laing Bridge, was closed but was reopened later in the night.
Officers attended the scene and found that a white Mercedes EQE35 had collided with a black Chevrolet Suburban.
Before the collision, the driver of the Mercedes was seen making "an unsafe lane change and driving at a high rate of speed," according to Cpl. Adriana O'Malley, media spokesperson for the Richmond RCMP.
"The driver was served with a violation ticket with three charges under the Motor Vehicle Act," said O'Malley.
"The two drivers were transported to a local area hospital for treatment for precautionary reasons."
