Two more arrests have been made in connection with a dial-a-dope drug-trafficking ring operating in Richmond and Surrey.
Last week, police announced eight people allegedly involved in the drug ring had been arrested May 25. The police also appealed for more information about four people wanted on drug-trafficking charges: Priya Sandu, Abdulhamid Sultan, Layla Low and James Griffiths.
Two of those people — Sandu, 23, of Richmond and Sultan, 20, of Surrey — have been arrested. Griffiths and Low are still wanted. Griffiths, 43, of Surrey, is wanted on 11 trafficking charges. Low, 22, of Surrey, is facing five trafficking charges.
“We are making progress,” RCMP Assistant Commissioner Bill Fordy said at a Monday news conference. “The difficult thing is you can’t always see the progress we’ve made.”
Fordy said over the past three weeks a total of 18 people have been arrested in connection with drug disputes and charged with approximately 60 offences, including drug trafficking, extortion, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and possessing a loaded firearm.
