City council will be deciding whether to completely remove 60-kilometre speed zones from Richmond on Monday.

This is one of many items on the agenda for city council's regular Monday meeting.

Richmond's public works and transportation committee was discussing whether to lower speed limits within Richmond's jurisdictions to a maximum of 50 kilometres per hour.

If approved, this would change the speed limit for four road sections.

Councillors will also be looking at adding a long list of items that will be now accepted in their recycling programs after a change was made to the provincial recycling regulations.

Aluminum foil plates, last food containers and plastic dental floss containers are a few to list that can now be thrown in the blue recycling bins.

Meanwhile, the parks, recreation and cultural services committee will be discussing a two heritage alteration permits for London Farm and Britannia Shipyards on Tuesday afternoon.

A permit is being requested to add a new pond boardwalk and replace an orientation sign at London Farm at 6511 Dyke Rd.

The second heritage alteration permit for Britannia Shipyards is looking to repair the build exteriors, gutters, roof systems, and improve the stilt house crawl spaces.
