Cocaine drug line dismantled by Richmond Mounties

Eight people, six of whom are from Richmond, charged with various offences

The Richmond RCMP Organized Crime Unit (OCU) has busted a suspected cocaine drug line, leading to eight people being charged.

The OCU began its investigation of a suspected drug trafficking group in June of last year, with individuals within the group purportedly selling cocaine and other “hard” drugs throughout Richmond.

Richmond RCMP, while describing the investigation to be “highly complex, resource intensive and lengthy,” managed to identify eight suspects and the drug line was found to have been selling cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin.

On April 21 this year, during an alleged drug transaction near Lansdowne and No. 3 roads, OCU arrested Randy Rothman and Tobias Zhuang.

And the Public Prosecution Service of Canada has now approved charges on eight people:

Randy Charles Rothman, 46, of Richmond, (seven counts of trafficking a controlled substance and one count of possession for the purposes of trafficking); Tobias Zhuang, 26, of Richmond, (one count of possession for the purposes of trafficking); Randy Bryan Geddes, 30, of Vancouver, (five counts of trafficking a controlled substance); Tsen Chen Hsia, 28, of Richmond, (two counts of trafficking a controlled substance); Desmond Shum, 19, of Richmond, (four counts of trafficking a controlled substance); Alexander Yamamoto, 29, of Richmond, (four counts of trafficking a controlled substance); Timothy Austin Yeung, 19, of Richmond, (three counts of  trafficking a controlled substance); Elsie Sevim Yucesoy, 19, of Burnaby, (two counts of trafficking a controlled substance).

Of these eight, four have outstanding warrants for their arrest.

“The Richmond RCMP will methodically seek out drug traffickers in this city,” said Cpl. Hsieh, of the Richmond RCMP OCU.
