The city of Richmond is looking for community partners to work with artists for its Engaging Artists in Community Program.

The program pairs artists or artist teams with organizations from the community to work on art projects that address important issues. Examples of projects include public performances, sculptures, participatory art installations, hands-on art activities, workshops, exhibitions, and digital media-based artwork.

"Selected community partners can provide participants with a safe and inclusive space for individual and collective creative expressions," said the city.

The current 2022 line-up features collaborations with Urban Bounty, Walk Richmond and Richmond Fitness and Wellness Association, and Turning Point Recovery Society.

Non-profit organizations, service organizations, community associations, libraries, and schools are encouraged to apply.

Deadline to apply for the 2023 program is Monday, July 25, 2022, and selected applicants will then be notified in August 2022. City staff will work with applicants to develop the projects.

Those interested are encouraged to contact publicart@richmond.ca or call 604-247-4612 in advance of submitting an application.

"Commissioned projects will aim to engage a culturally-diverse and multigenerational audience," said the city.
