The call is out to Richmond residents who are interested in serving their community in a volunteer capacity in 2017.

City council is looking to fill more than 100 volunteer positions on 19 advisory committees.

The committees are long-standing and contribute to addressing a variety of specific areas of civic concern such as the arts, culture, economy, environment, agriculture, seniors, youth and more.

Those interested in volunteering their time and expertise on any of the city’s advisory bodies are asked to submit their completed application form and resume by end of day Friday, Sept. 23.

Those appointed to positions, by city council, would serve on the advisory body in a volunteer capacity — there is no remuneration for appointees.

Application forms are available online at Richmond.ca/cityhall/council/boards/advisory or printed copies at Richmond City Hall’s information desk, 6911 No. 3 Road.

For more information on the committees, their mandates, terms of reference and staff liaison contact information, go online to the same address stated above.
