Bloodmobile comes to Richmond

The Bloodmobile is returning to the Richmond Library and Cultural Centre on March 23 to make the process of donating blood one step easier.

Its basically a blood donor clinic on wheels that makes it easy for people to donate at a location that is easy and comfortable for them, said Stephanie Scott, Bloodmobile partnership specialist for Canadian Blood Services.

People must meet certain criteria to be eligible to donate, including: be over 17 years old, weigh at least 110 lbs., be in generally good health and bring ID. On the day of, people should eat well at least two hours before donating and be hydrated.

Blood can be donated every two months. The Bloodmobile will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Friday, March 23. Register in advance or call 1-888-236-6283.
