Beautiful Richmond...through the eyes of Richmond News' readers

Since the start of the year, the Richmond News has been asking its readers to show us the beauty of the city through their lenses

At the start of 2021, and in a bid to distract somewhat from the pandemic news cycle, the Richmond News asked its readers to send in their favourite, recent photos of their “Beautiful Richmond.”

The response has been incredible, with dozens of amazing shots coming into the newsroom every day from all across the city.

From people as young as seven and as old as 85, readers were using their phones and the latest camera technology to capture Richmond’s beautiful wildlife, nature, sunsets, dawns, transportation, landmarks, you name it, we have published one of them every day at Richmond-News.com for five months.

The hundreds of readers who have participated have thanked us for showcasing their city and their amateur photos, albeit some of them being very professional, and for cheering them up on a daily basis during a tough time for us all.

One former long-time Richmondite, who has moved back to Devon, England, logs onto Richmond-News.com every day and recently emailed the News to thank us for helping her remember all that she loved about living here.

We’ve built up a loyal following online with the snap-happy readers, knowing many of them on first-name terms now.

And we hope to keep that going as we enter the summer months and continue to show off all that is great about “Beautiful Richmond.”

Here, we’ve picked some of the best of what our readers have been sending us. We hope you enjoy them as much as we have.
