BC Hydro schedules three power outages in Richmond this week

Richmond residents in multiple areas will experience power outages as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work between July 12 and 19.

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.

Here is the list of power outages scheduled for the upcoming week:

July 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect less than five customers at:

  • 7751, 7760, 7771 and 7780 Decourcey Crs.

July 20 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 25 customers at:

  • 8580, 8591 Rosevale Rd.
  • 10560, 10580, 10591, 10611, 10631, 10640, 10651, 10660, 10671 Rosecroft Crs.
  • 10011, 10031, 10040, 10051, 10060, 10071, 10080, 10091, 10100, 10111, 10131, 10151, 10171 Rosedene Crs.

July 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect less than five customers at:

  • 13591, 13620, 13631 and 13651 Blundell Rd.
