You’ll now be able to stay in your vehicle while catching at ferry out of Tsawwassen and other terminals, even on enclosed decks.
B.C. Health Officer Bonnie Henry yesterday announced that Transport Canada agreed to change the safety regulation that required people to leave their parked vehicles on enclosed decks.
Last week Premier John Horgan said he told Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “in this instance, we want to see social distancing and if we have to direct people to leave their vehicles to congregate in smaller spaces for an hour-and-a-half, that’s not good public health policy."
The rule relaxation is on a temporary basis.
Meanwhile, BC Ferries announced it is reducing service between Vancouver and Victoria until Monday, March 23.
